Medea, also known on Inventa as the Great Old One, is an entity that is believed to have spawned the multiverse as present day inhabitants know it. It is believed that they were able to create planes of existence, life, and a working equilibrium of a dimension.
Often titled "Dimension Walker", Medea is classified as a Greater Deity, and the only one that is known to the Creations. It is believed that others, similar to Medea in both power and intellect, exist within other dimensions. They're thought to be nurturing the dimensions, and that their immortal work is to ensure that none get too much out of balance from their original idea.

Depictions
Medea is often depicted as a male entity made up of swirling galaxies and the boundless expanse of space. Whilst depicted as a male, it is not known as to whether or not they even have a true gender, and as such written text remains in the third person as to not anger the almighty.
Archaeological dig sites across Inventa have turned up ancient depictions which back as far back as the early titans of Medea. Some in the form of persistent magical runic drawings, others as simple as mosaics and pottery showing a being of the stars. Whilst there is no descernable date as to when Medea entered into the dimension, the shared view of what they look like reamins the same all over the world.
"You'd be a fool to think that an entity of such power cares for a Creation. We're merely specs of dust in a long forgotten cupboard, but we fear our creator, for they hold the broom."
Symbology
!center|300 The symbol of Medea is a swirling vortex of galaxies and nebulae, forming the shape of a watchful eye. The eye's iris is a black hole, representing the infinite depth and power of Medea. Surrounding the eye are the rings of the multiverse, symbolising Medea's role as its creator.
The symbol is considered to be ambiguous at best by outsiders and it is heavily questioned as to if it truly represents the Great Old One.
Although Medea is classified as a Greater Deity, due to the lack of presence many question as to if a symbol should even exist in the first place.
The Symbol's Meaning
The symbol of Medea, the swirling vortex of galaxies and nebulae forming a watchful eye, is a subject of much debate and speculation among those who study the Great Old One. While it is widely recognised as a representation of Medea, its true meaning and significance remain shrouded in mystery.
Outsiders' Perspective:
To outsiders, the symbol can appear ambiguous and confusing. The swirling vortex and black hole iris may evoke feelings of awe and wonder, but they may also be seen as dark and foreboding. Some may even question whether the symbol truly represents Medea at all, plainly indicating it is a creation of the Creations themselves.
The Debate Over a Symbol for a Greater Deity:
Given Medea's immense power and cosmic scale, many argue that a physical symbol is inadequate to represent their true essence. Some believe that Medea's power and influence are so vast that they transcend the need for a tangible symbol. Others suggest that the symbol is simply a way for mortals to grasp a concept that is beyond their comprehension.
The Symbol's Potential Meanings:
Despite the debate surrounding its meaning, the symbol of Medea offers several possible interpretations:
- A Representation of the Multiverse: The swirling galaxies and nebulae could symbolise the vastness and complexity of the multiverse, reflecting Medea's role as its creator.
- A Warning of Infinite Power: The black hole iris could serve as a warning of the immense power and potential danger that Medea represents.
- A Symbol of Unknowable Mystery: The symbol's ambiguity could reflect the unknowable nature of Medea and the limitations of human understanding.
Ultimately, the true meaning of the symbol remains a subject of debate and interpretation. It is a powerful image that can evoke a range of emotions and thoughts, and it serves as a reminder of the immense power and mystery surrounding the Great Old One.
Active Worshippers
Whilst Medea is believed to no longer care for the Creations, some still worship them as a form of guidance through life in the search of something greater. The generalised belief is that in order to become noticed by, or as powerful as, a Dimension Walker you must be reincarnated into a body of pure balance.
This has led those that follow Medea to believe all things must remain perfect and balanced. They practice the arts of patience, self care, helping others, and doing most things for free. A lot of the follower's free time is spent studying the Multiverse, this is also known as Poliskosmology. The belief that Medea left traces and instructions of how to achieve Dimension Walker status is firm within the religion and there are many theories as to what certain aspects of creation mean.
Divine Magic
Medea is no longer active in the current dimension, and therefore it is theorised that the followers shouldn't have access to magic. This is known to be incorrect, for the Dimension Walkers commonly use magic from the school of Conjuration. Whether this is through secretive Arcane study, or from something nobody has yet discovered is unclear.
